Jay Henges Shooting Range

The Jay Henges Shooting Range & Outdoor Education Center is on the west side of the Forest 44 Conservation Area located in southwest St. Louis County. Originally under the Missouri Department of Conservation’s Forestry Division, the range was named Forest 44 Shooting Range, coined from the Conservation Area in which it was built on in 1993. In 1997, it was dedicated and renamed after former Missouri Department of Conservation Commissioner and St. Louis area resident, Jay Henges. In 2003, supervision of the range was transferred to the Department’s Outreach and Education Division.
