Ohioans For Concealed Carry PAC
On January 7, 2004, the Ohio General Assembly passed a revised House Bill 12, making concealed carry of handguns legal for any Ohioan who qualifies. The Act was signed into law the next day, and became effective April 8, 2004.
Founded in 2002 by a group of Ohioans For Concealed Carry (OFCC) members, the OFCC PAC is a non-partisan political action committee which promotes education and grassroots activism focused on the election of candidates who desire to defend the constitutional right of Ohioans to bear arms for self-defense, and improve Ohio laws regarding concealed carry.
OFCC Co-Sponsors Ted Nugent Event at BGSU!
Ohioans For Concealed Carry has teamed up with the College Republicans student organization at Bowling Green State University to bring guitar legend and NRA Board of Directors member Ted Nugent to BGSU’s Lenhart Grand Ballroom to speak on Tuesday March 27th, 2007 from 8pm to 10pm.
“The Nuge”, author of such books as “God, Guns & Rock and Roll” and the “Kill It and Grill It” cookbooks, is well known for his unabashed opinions on many subjects, including hunting and gun rights. Speaking at the 2005 NRA Annual Meeting he said “Remember the Alamo! Shoot ’em! To show you how radical I am, I want carjackers dead. I want rapists dead. I want burglars dead. I want child molesters dead. I want the bad guys dead. No court case. No parole. No early release. I want ’em dead. Get a gun and when they attack you, shoot ’em!”
Ted Nugent’s presentations are often very popular with conservatives and firearms owners. His lecture will likely bring a pro-capitalist, pro-gun ownership message, focusing on the concept of the “self-made man and woman” and stressing the importance of Second Amendment rights. Ohioans For Concealed Carry is thrilled to be involved with this appearance, and we strongly encourage our members to not miss out on this opportunity.
ACTION ITEM: Help Change ODNR CCW Prohibition
One of the most frequent questions Ohioans For Concealed Carry receives asks whether or not someone can carry their concealed defensive handgun while hunting. While it is generally permitted, there are a few circumstances when it is not. The most common of these prohibitions exists while deer hunting.
We ask for your help in petitioning the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) to abolish this prohibition and bring Ohio’s hunting policies in line with state law. At the bottom of this article, you will find a link to a letter. If all concealed carry supporters could take a few seconds to print this letter, sign it, and mail it to the ODNR Director listed at the top of the letter, we may continue to see our grassroots efforts create positive change in Ohio.
If you are able to make a stronger statement, you have the opportunity to hand deliver the letter to ODNR representatives on March 4. As you have previously read in this story by Dan White, ODNR is holding Open Houses across the state on that date.
